Business Development, Funding & Operations Manager

9Trees CIC is looking for a motivated, organised self-starter to drive new business, secure funding, and keep our operations running smoothly.

We’re a grassroots, not-for-profit environmental organisation helping people plant nine trees a year to balance their carbon footprint. As we grow, we need someone who can bring in opportunities, streamline systems, and support our small team.

What you’ll do:

  • Secure new business, partnerships & funding

  • Write persuasive bids and grant applications

  • Manage inboxes, admin, records, and daily operations

  • Recruit and onboard volunteers/interns

  • Support Directors with workflow, organisation & strategy

  • Keep our digital office tidy and efficient

  • Help us spot opportunities, improve processes, and grow sustainably

Who you are:

  • Highly organised & confident managing admin

  • Excellent communicator (written & verbal)

  • Self-motivated with a positive “can do” attitude

  • Passionate about climate action

  • Able to work independently and meet deadlines

  • Experience in business development, admin, or bid writing is a bonus

The essentials:

  • 8–16 hrs/week

  • 3–6 months (with potential to extend to 6–12 months)

  • Commission-based only

  • First month voluntary to learn and align

  • Remote role, start ASAP
