Partnerships

Working together to create more woodland

At 9Trees CIC, we believe we can create more biodiverse woodland by working with organisations that already know their landscapes, farmers and landowners.

We are therefore developing partnerships with conservation organisations, farming networks, landowner groups and tree-planting organisations across the UK.

Our aim is simple:

You help identify good opportunities. We help bring the trees and funding. Together, we get woodland in the ground.

What can 9Trees offer?

Depending on the partnership and project, we can potentially provide:

  • 🌱 Native trees

  • 🪵 Stakes and guards

  • 👩‍🌾 Planting and establishment

  • 💷 Private sponsorship funding

  • 🌳 Woodland creation and habitat projects

  • 💧 Riparian and water-management planting

  • 🚜 Agroforestry and farm woodland

  • 🦋 Habitat corridors and biodiversity projects

  • 🤝 Support for landowner engagement and agreements

We are happy to work within existing local priorities and alongside established conservation programmes.

We don't want to duplicate what organisations are already doing. We want to add something useful.

Our partnerships

We have already worked with organisations including Plant 1 Cornwall and Protect Earth, helping turn sponsorship and funding into trees and woodland on the ground.

We are also exploring new partnerships with organisations including the Land Workers' Alliance and the Nature Friendly Farming Network, as well as Landscape and conservation organisations across Wales.

We are particularly interested in partnerships where an organisation already has relationships with farmers, landowners or communities, but where an additional source of private funding could help turn opportunities into real projects.

A simple model

We can keep partnerships very straightforward.

1. Identify

You identify suitable landowners, farms or projects where tree planting would provide genuine environmental and landscape benefits.

2. Agree

We agree what the project needs, whether that is trees and protection or a more complete planting package.

3. Fund

9Trees uses sponsorship and other private funding to pay for the agreed work.

4. Plant

Trees are sourced where possible from local nurseries and planted using local contractors, partners or volunteers.

5. Grow

The woodland remains with the landowner under an appropriate long-term agreement, with progress and establishment monitored over time.

From Cornwall to Wales

Our partnerships don't all have to look the same.

Sometimes 9Trees can simply provide funding to an established tree-planting organisation.

Sometimes we can provide free trees, stakes and guards to a partner working with landowners.

And sometimes we can work directly with the landowner and coordinate the whole project.

We are flexible.

We'd particularly like to develop partnerships across Wales' National Parks and National Landscapes, working with local organisations to identify opportunities for native woodland, riparian planting, agroforestry and wider nature recovery.

No carbon credits. No BNG requirement.

9Trees isn't a carbon-credit business.

Our aim is to use private sponsorship to create real, biodiverse woodland that stays in the landscape for decades.

We want the benefits to be tangible:

more trees • more habitat • healthier landscapes • better water management • more biodiversity • more people connected with nature

Could we work together?

If you are an organisation working with farmers, landowners, communities or conservation projects, we'd love to hear from you.

We can explore anything from a simple supply of trees and protection to a larger funding and delivery partnership.
