9Trees was started in 2019 with Permaculture principles and a holistic organisation bringing together landowners, individuals and businesses to create biodiverse woodlands across the UK. 9Trees is a โ€˜Grow Slow. Grow Beautifulโ€™ organisation.

In the coming months you will see how we have grown, changed and our hopes for the future and continue to create meaningful work in the countryside sector and spaces for connection to nature and wellbeing.

We are so happy that spring is here, Just a few weeks left to plant the final trees and then we embark on the next season of planting, partnerships and progress.

We now care for 17 sites across 10 counties in the UK, with projects in Ireland and Scotland on the horizon.
Could your county be next? Word of mouth helps us grow ๐ŸŒฑ

๐ŸŒฑ 2025/26 Planting โ€“ Branching Out & New Partnerships

Tree Planting Projects - 9Trees CIC

๐Ÿ“ Mould, Flintshire (Wales)

300 agroforestry & woodland trees in partnership with Switch Equine.
Fruit trees (apple, pear, plum, damson) alongside walnut, hornbeam, sea buckthorn, alder, dogwood, hazel, birch & willow โ€” supporting regenerative agriculture for horse owners and stables.

๐Ÿ“Wellington, Devon

300 trees in partnership with Protect Earth.
Part of our Branching Out programme with a 30-year protection agreement.

๐Ÿ“ Bodmin, Cornwall

1,000-tree shelterbelt with Plant One Cornwall in the National Landscape.
A landscape-scale resilience project including alder, wild cherry, rowan and birch (15-year agreement).

๐Ÿ“ Third Wood, Chew Magna (Bristol/Somerset)

4,000 trees over 2โ€“3 years (1,250 already planted).
Species include sweet chestnut, alder, oak, hazel and hornbeam.

Following major losses from the 2025 drought, we are replacing 4,000 failed trees and managing part of the site to safeguard sponsored trees.
Although within a Woodland Carbon Code scheme, this area will not be sold as carbon credits โ€” offering landowners an alternative approach beyond government schemes.

Team planting and maintenance days are available via our events page.
