Distribution mountains & uplands in British Isles ResearchGate

We want to plant in hard to reach upland areas, like the Elan Valley, Powys Moorlands and Cambrian Mountains. Trees will be planted sporadically to target rare bird species. This means that the cost to plant, protect and look after each tree is greatly increased. For this reason each tree will cost £25 but you will be supporting a very special project that helps get trees in the uplands and supports rare wildlife.

This sympathetic planting will ensure the character of the areas is maintained whilst replanting trees lost over the centuries. We also require funds to use fencing which will return to the earth as it biodegrades. new pioneering techniques like Sabre planting and old management similar to brashing up around coppice stools will be required.

This is a long term project and until we raise enough capital we may utilise these funds in other ways, when we have a site and can plant efficiently we will let you know where your tree(s) are!

Are you really passionate about upland planting, help make this campaign visible, and tell your friends!
